2014 Positional Rankings: Wing Forwards (Pre-July)

As we approach the July "Live" evaluation period (beginning July 10th), we take another look at our DMVelite Player Rankings.

This week, we will release position-by-position rankings for the 2014 and 2015 classes.

We released our overall Top 50 rankings for the Class of 2014 in April and will expand that list into a Top 100 after the AAU season has come to a close.

Prospect Report: Day 1 At The Rock

BELTSVILLE, Md. - The 2013 Rock Summer League kicked off on Thursday night with High Point, Sherwood, Paint Branch, Maret, McNamara, Churchill, O’Connell, Eleanor Roosevelt, Wise, and Bishop Ireton all taking the court.

The first day of action featured plenty of tight games, comeback victories, and a couple of standout performers. Thankfully, none of the games went into overtime as the temperature of the High Point gym seemed to exceed 100 degrees.

Here are some of the players that played well and caught our eye:

2014 6’7 F John King (High Point) - King made his impact felt on the defensive end the entire game with non-stop energy. He never subbed out of the game and picked up a number of steals, blocks, and assists. He also was able to attack the rim off the dribble, score in transition, and looked good rolling off of screens. He’s a long, athletic forward who finished the game with 18 points.

DMVelite Rankings: 2014 Top 50

RELATED: DMVelite 100 - Class of 2013 Rankings

The DMVelite Top 50 for the Class of 2014 represents a ranking of the 50 premier juniors (rising seniors) throughout Washington D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

This page includes the Top 50 and our "On The Radar" list of those players that earned consideration for Top 50 honors but did not quite make the cut. With the idea that this Top 50 will expand into a Top 100 in August (post-AAU), our list is comprehensive. With a considerably strong spring and summer performance, an "On The Radar" player can easily find himself in the Top 50.

DMVelite All-Northern Va. Team

As we continue to wrap up the 2012-13 high school basketball season on DMVelite, we move onto our All-State selections for Virginia.

RELATED: 2013 All-DMVelite Team -- All-DC Team -- All-MD Team

As a result of the DMVelite-MDHoops merger in March, we decided to do three different All-Area teams in addition to our overall All-DMVelite team. This team encompasses Northern Virginia, not the schools in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Only players at high schools located in Alexandria City, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William Counties are eligible for All-State honors (we released our All-Maryland Team on Wednesday and will release All-District teams for D.C. as well.)
