Westfield's CJ Hill Picks Northeastern

By MARCUS HELTON

A few weeks after the high school season ended, Westfield (Va.) 2013 guard CJ Hill was left scrambling when his lone scholarship offer – from Division II Adelphi (NY) – was taken by another player.

“I didn’t know where I was going to go,” Hill recalled. I thought I was going to end up going to a D-III college or, like, a prep school, just because I didn’t have anything at all. But I said, ‘You know what, I’m going to work hard for a good two weeks, see what Virginia Elite can do for me in this tournament, and probably go to Massanutten [Military] or something like that.’”

DMVelite 2015 Rankings FAQ

Upon the release of our DMVelite Top 40 for the Class of 2015, we're sure that many of our readers have questions about the rankings, who produced them, what was considered in the ranking process, and more. Refer to the FAQ below, and please contact us with any other questions about our rankings.

Q: WHO PUT THE RANKINGS TOGETHER?
A: Our DMVelite team of Edgar Walker, Erik Larson, and Marcus Helton put together these rankings. We started with a list of about 100 sophomores under consideration and began to narrow it down and order players. Through debate between the three of us and consultation with area coaches throughout the season, a consensus was reached.

Jiggetts, Wright Trading Places At Siena

By MARCUS HELTON

2013 guards Stephan Jiggetts and Marquis Wright have been good friends since elementary school, and for a while it looked like the former AAU teammates would reunite at the college level.

That all changed Thursday though, as Wright (North Point) committed to Siena College just hours after Jiggetts (Bishop McNamara) decommitted from the New York school. Wright had previously committed to Siena coach Jimmy Patsos at Loyola.

The Saints picked up another DMV standout as well, with Oakland Mills forward Lavon Long - like Wright, a former Loyola recruit - pledging to rejoin Patsos.
